Training on Campus

ROTC trains on campus in several different ways. Each week there are three different types of training events:

  • Physical Training
  • Leadership Laboratory
  • Classroom Instruction

Physical Training (PT)
Battalion training sessions are planned and led by cadets. The workout is designed to improve the overall physical fitness of cadets as well as allow them to gain experience planning, training and leading formations.

Leadership Laboratory
Every week the Battalion has a two-hour lab where the seniors cadets teach other cadets a variety of different subjects, such as land navigation to first aid and tactical movement techniques. These labs are primarily hands on training opportunities.

Classroom Instruction
Taught by the Active Duty faculty assigned here on campus, these classes focus on the basics of military studies. The subjects focus on giving you the knowledge you need to succeed.

Off Campus Training
Once a semester the Battalion has a Field Training Exersize (FTX). During this weekend event, they are able to implement all of the skills that they have learned during the semester.

Additional Training Opportunities
The most competitive cadets are given the opportunity to attend several optional training schools. These include:
