Introduction

In May of 2004, the University of Oklahoma Press published a book and DVD containing 29 Creek (Muskogee) stories by Earnest Gouge, born in Indian Territory around 1865.  The book contains side-by-side Creek and English versions of the stories, and has the following reference:

The DVD is being sold separately and contains recordings of Margaret Mauldin reading the stories in Creek, with subtitles in English.  The reference for the DVD is:
