The letters gathered here were written in the Creek (Muskogee) language of present-day Oklahoma and addressed to Ann Eliza Worcester Robertson, a missionary to the Creeks at a time when the Creek Nation was an independent nation within Indian Territory. The bulk of the letters in the collection are from the University of Tulsa's McFarlin Library, where they form part of the Alice Robertson Collection.
