Area North of Rogers Hall

The area north of Rogers Hall features a
small collection of cypresses, including an Eastern Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum),
a Mexican Bald Cypress (Taxodium mucronatum), and a
Pond Cypress (Taxodium ascendans, pictured at right).

|
|
The Common Persimmon (Diospyros virginiana,
far left) and the European Birch (Betula pendula,
left), which can be seen along the brick path, both have distinctive bark patterns.
|
Other trees in this area include a White Ash (Fraxinus americana),
a Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia,
above left), and a Sourwood (Oxydendron arboreum,
above right).
