The College of William & Mary provides all students, including law students, with access to computers, a campus-wide network, the Internet, and email. Each student receives a computer account and password for those purposes upon enrollment. Law students are required to check their William & Mary email accounts at least once a day.

A good overview of W&M computing services--oriented more to faculty and staff than students, but still relevant to students--is on this page: http://www.wm.edu/it/?id=2.

Personal computers for student use are located in a number of computer labs around campus. One such lab is located within the Law School building, in the library. Printers are available in these labs as well.

Most law students have their own personal computer, although the Law School does not require that they do.

The Law School provides students with network access for email and the Internet from nearly all locations within the building. Some of these locations have wired connections with a standard network jack (for an "RJ-45" network plug); many more are within reach of the Law School's extensive wireless network.

The law school has some rules about using computers on exams. Links to these rules appear in the section on Academic Regulations, along with links to instructions for things like removing personal information from Word documents. Look at the menu items on the left side of the page, under "Exams," after you click the link just below.

The College provides a Technical Support Center for all students, including law students, at this phone number: 221-4357 (221-HELP). The Law School's own technology support staff also helps students to the extent it can.
