LL.M. STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMIn order to welcome LL.M. students to William & Mary’s campus and respond to their questions, the International Law Society (ILS), a student-led organization, has developed the LL.M. Student Assistance Program (LSAP). Under this program, a current law school student volunteers to serve as a point of contact on non-official issues for an LL.M. student. When an LL.M. applicant accepts their offer of admission to William & Mary and completes the LL.M. Assistance Request Form included in their admission packet, an ILS volunteer will be assigned to help the incoming LL.M. candidate with various aspects of law school life. Beginning the summer before arrival, the student will be available to answer any questions or direct the LL.M. to the appropriate place for addressing such items as housing, obtaining telephone service, tourist information, etc. This law school student will remain in touch with the LL.M. throughout his time at William & Mary and will be a valuable resource. ILS encourages LL.M. students to sign up for the program. •Assisting LLM program participants in planning their move to the Williamsburg area and helping find answers to questions about unofficial issues. •Ensuring that newly arrived LLM students and their families are provided appropriate assistance to help make their move as pleasant as possible and to make them feel welcome to the area. •Facilitating the LLM student's preparation to attend classes at the law school. •Helping LLM students realize they are recognized as valuable additions to the W&M law school community.
