The popular Legal Advantage Program was designed to give LL.M. students and foreign-trained lawyers an advantage in comprehending American law, assist with their English language skills and facilitate their transition to university life at William & Mary. The English portion of the program is open to any graduate student who has been accepted to the College of William & Mary and other students will be considered on an individual basis.
The Legal Advantage Program contains two major components:
- English for International Students Program (EISP) (Law 387-02), which provides spoken and written English language training with special emphasis on legal communication.
- Introduction to the Study of American Law course (Law 387-01), which introduces students to advanced American legal research methods and fundamental education into Americal legal institutions and concepts.
Students enrolling in the LL.M. program who successfully complete both the pass/fail EISP and the Introduction to the Study of Law course will earn 2 credits towards their LL.M. degree.
The program provides an excellent opportunity for LL.M. students to come early to William & Mary, familiarize themselves with the campus and surrounding community, meet faculty and make friends before the LL.M. Program begins.
This four-week program will be held from July 21 through August 15, 2008. The cost for participation in the Legal Advantage Program is:
- Tuition & Fees - $2,500
