COURSES AND FACULTY

COURSES

LL.M. students come to this degree program from varied work and academic experiences as well as varied career goals. Naturally, it is these experiences and goals that guide the student in course selection. In recent years, LL.M. students have taken courses in criminal law such as Criminal Procedure and International Criminal Law; in corporate law such as International Trade, International Business Transactions, Corporations, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Contracts; comparative law such as Islamic Law, Law and Development, and Human Rights. In addition, many LL.M. students register for our foundation courses: Property, Torts, Civil Procedure, and Constitutional Law. Occasionally, LL.M. students seek an experiential opportunity by registering for an externship or clinic. In these instances, the student works under the guidance of the professor to assist with real client cases.

LL.M. studentsWilliam and Mary's LL.M. program allows each student to design a course of study tailored to his or her own academic and professional interests and goals. LL.M. students have the ability to select courses from the full range of courses available to J.D. students. Although course offerings vary each semester, below is a list of select courses that have been of interest to our LL.M. students.
