Services: Computer Labs
The Law Library, in coordination with W&M Information Technology, provides two computer labs for student use. The primary student computing lab on the library's top floor provides access to 20 Dell computers. The lab offers students access to a variety of software applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, web browsers to access the Internet, CALI lessons, access to legal databases, and management applications such as cite-checkers. This lab also is equipped with network systems that provide access to other campus computer systems, including the William & Mary libraries' online catalog, mainframe computing facilities such as registration, campus web servers that host course materials, electronic mail, and access to the Internet. Every law student receives an account to access these systems.

A second computer lab with 12 networked Dell computers is located on the lower level of the library. This lab provides access to the same software applications used in the second floor lab. Students use this lab heavily for Lexis and Westlaw research, as the Lexis and Westlaw printers are in an adjacent room.

In addition to the computer labs, public access computer stations are located throughout the library. Most are equipped to browse the Internet and check email using a web-based email program.

Each of the 20 individual study rooms on the library's main and top floors has network connections, as do an additional 24 carrel seats in the library. A wireless network permits internet access throughout much of the law school facility.
