You should also read pp. 46-56 in the course pack and pp. 1-24 in Political Dynamics. The Political Dynamics material will be raised in class three—but it will play a bigger role in class four.

Also, before the start of the spring semester, I suggest but do not require that you read Jeffrey Toobin’s new book, “The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court.” We will not discuss Toobin’s book. But it is an interesting read and will give you a good bit of very useful information about the current Supreme Court and particularly about the individual justices. |
