A survey of the philosophy of law, focusing on the natural law-positivist tensions in, primarily, the work of Twentieth Century philosophers. The course will engage a broad array of perspectives, including those of Austin, Hart, Fuller, Dworkin, Finnis, Rawls, and Raz, as well as the work of analytical (e.g., Kant, Wittgenstein, Quine) and continental (e.g., Hegel, Nietzsche) philosophers whose work impacts the Law.
