Curriculum

LAW 308-01 Electronic Evidence, Expert Testimony, Scientific Evidence 3 credits
Using a unified evidentiary and practical perspective, this course will address the use and admission of electronic evidence and expert testimony in civil and criminal cases under both the Federal Rules of Evidence and major state common law alternatives. The course will include the application of the Supreme Court's landmark decision in Daubert v. Merrill Dow Pharmaceuticals; practical considerations dealing with the admission and use of expert testimony; pretrial preparation of experts; and the evolving law and practice dealing with the admission of electronic evidence, especially in the context of expert testimony.
