The College of William and Mary and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science accept applications for full-time and hourly positions using the online system located at http://jobs.wm.edu  Full-time positions are those that normally work a 40-hour work week and are eligible for employee benefits.  Hourly positions generally work 20-30 hours per week, are subject to a maximum of 1,500 hours in a 365-day period, and are not eligible for employee benefits.

Applying for a job is a two (2) step process:

1. Visit the online job site and create an application

2. Submit your application to an open job, answer any supplemental questions, and copy/paste or upload a resume and cover letter in MS Word or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)

Note: You may search for open jobs before completing an online application. Applications for employment must be submitted using this online system. Paper applications will not be accepted.
New employees hired on or after July 1, 2006 will be governed by the provisions of the Restructuring Act and will be University Employees not Classified Employees.  Initially, the policies that cover University Employees will be very similar to the current policies for Classified Employees.  Once the new system is implemented, University employees will be governed by that system.

The hiring department will extend a verbal offer of employment to the selected candidate. The Office of Human Resources will confirm the verbal offer in writing to the candidate.
