Teacher Training and the Teaching Internships

The faculty at William & Mary is committed to preparing graduate students for excellence as scholars and as teachers. To this end, the Department, in conjunction with the Graduate School and University Teaching Project, offers a teacher-training program for all history graduate students. The History Department also offers advanced doctoral students the opportunity to participate in a teaching internship that provides supervised experience in teaching college classes.
