Update Courses and Teaching Modules for High-School Teachers 

 

       Our Update Courses are tailored to help middle and high-school teachers develop both a knowledge base and practical experience with topics that are the stated components of the Standards of Learning (SOLs) for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Designed to be offered for graduate credit at times convenient to the work schedules of middle and high-school teachers, these courses are taught by science faculty at the College in conjunction with the College's School of Education. Participants also help design Teaching Modules to provide ongoing resource support for the integration of the science into the classroom.  Examples of update courses offered include:

Neurophysiology and Body Systems

Insect Biology

Molecular Biotechnology and Bioinformatics

Molecular Biotechnology
