Advance Preparations:
- Declaring Candidacy/Confirming Eligibility: Students intending to graduate in May, 2008, should already have filed a declaration of candidacy in the fall. In addition, students in the spring should run a degree audit for themselves under the MyWm Banner system to confirm that they have completed all graduation requirements. Advisors or the Department are happy to provide clarification, but it is up to students themselves to confirm that they will have met all requirements.
- IR/GS Majors: Diplomas of students who declared a major in IR/GS (as their only or primary major) and have been cleared for graduation will automatically be delivered to the Department's degree conferral site.
- Double Majors: Double majors who have declared a primary major in a department other than IR/GS but plan to attend the IR/GS degree ceremony must inform the IR/GS Program Administrative Assistant Luanna Martins, 221-3082, ldmartins@wm.edu, so you are placed in the program and are on the list of graduates.

- Graduates will be in designated seating in the front of the auditorium in alpha order to be called up onto the stage to receive their "diploma". Each seat will have a name tag in alpha order - this order MUST be maintained to avoid confusion on stage.
- Graduates will walk up onto the stage from the right, travel across the stage, receive their diploma, and exit the stage to the left, returning to your seats. Please feel free to pause and turn for family photographs as you receive your diploma. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Audience is requested to remain in place until the Recessional is completed. Faculty will lead Recessional followed by graduates, families and guests.
- Please join us for a reception for all IR/GS graduates and their familes in the Dodge Room and courtyard of Phi Beta Kappa Hall immediately following the ceremony.
- There will be a professional photographer taking photographs during the ceremony and "at large" during the reception. Any photographs taken for you/family by this photographer should be dealt with privately and are not the responsibility of the College of William and Mary or the International Relations and Global Studies program.
