Thank You
Class of 2009 gift sets paticipation record.
Congratulations on your graduation from William & Mary! The Class of 2009 has much of which to be proud - and now you have the diplomas to prove it. Earning a degree from a school as challenging as William & Mary is not easy, but you have demonstrated through the past four years that you have what it takes to succeed no matter where life takes you.
Congratulations are also in order for your 2009 Senior Class Gift. A full 76 percent of your class contributed - a record for participation. By supporting this effort, you are part of an honor roll of seniors who committed more than $156,000 in gifts and pledges for the College. That is an amazing accomplishment for a senior class, with consequences that will be even more amazing.
Your generosity and class spirit, both current and future, are important to William & Mary. When you support the College, you provide essential resources that help it remain the preeminent place you and your classmates have known it to be. On behalf of the students who follow in your footsteps and of the faculty who have a huge impact on their lives, thank you!
I trust you've already begun to take to heart the words of wisdom you received from Tom Brokaw at Commencement - your participation in the class gift, combined with your myriad other achievements, testifies to your deep desire to make a difference in the world. May I also add a few other, simple requests: keep in touch; come back to campus often; and remember, no matter where you are, William & Mary is always here for you.
Best wishes for
the future,
