The Campaign for William & Mary
Charting our destiny.
The Campaign for William & Mary, a comprehensive, half-billion-dollar fundraising initiative, began in 2000 as an effort to build a future for the College worthy of its historic past.
By the time the Campaign successfully concluded on June 30, 2007, more than 60,000 alumni and friends had contributed $517.55 million for William & Mary's students, faculty, facilities and programs.
Thanks to the expressed loyalty of numerous donors, gifts made during the Campaign are making a significant impact. For example:
- Students are benefiting from need- and merit-based scholarships, new programs, improved learning and athletic facilities, and expanded research opportunities.
- The College's faculty is supported with professorships, increased resources for classrooms and laboratories, and stipends to attend conferences. The Fund for Coaching Excellence offers critical support for dedicated Tribe coaches.
- Many buildings and facilities are being updated and improved, and new facilities designed for today's — and tomorrow's — needs are under construction.
- Programs across the College — from the arts and sciences to athletics to the graduate schools and beyond — are strengthened thanks to unrestricted expendable support, which allows the College to meet its most pressing needs.
The Campaign for William & Mary is making a lasting difference at the College as we continue to "Chart our Destiny."
