On November 20, 2013, the Development Ambassadors hosted our first annual Tag Day. Tag Day demonstrated to current William & Mary students the impact that private support has on our campus. We tagged buildings, classrooms, spaces, and equipment around campus that exist in part due to donations from alumni, parents, and friends of the College. We also tagged endowed professors, students on merit-based scholarships, and athletes. All of these people are at William & Mary because of the generosity of our donors.
The Development Ambassadors want our peers to be aware of the impact that private support has on our education. We might be a state school, but so much of what we have is here because of the support from alumni, parents, and friends of the College. These donors understand how important giving back to William & Mary is so that current students have the opportunity to receive a great education. We hope that through Tag Day, current students will begin to understand the importance of private giving.
Can you imagine a William & Mary without private support? Our Tag Day website will show you everything that was tagged and shows the impact of private support on our campus.
