As William and Mary Development Ambassadors, our mission is to educate, engage, and excite. We seek to educate and engage our peers through programs that illustrate the importance and impact of private support to the College. We represent the College at alumni and donor events by providing the unique and valuable student perspective and strive to foster a spirit of philanthropy at the College that begins freshman year and continues on after graduation.
Who are the Development Ambassadors?
The William and Mary Development Ambassadors is an on-campus organization that works to educate, engage, and excite the student body about the importance of student philanthropy. Through our educational programming, we work together to inform the student body of the benefits and necessity of private donations that sustain the College. We also engage with William and Mary alumni by attending and staffing alumni events as well as working with the Advancement Office to thank alumni donors.
We are students who care about the future of the College. Our goal is to inform the student body of the necessity of private giving and to provide support for fundraising efforts organized by the College. We are undergraduate representatives of the College who want to establish and foster a culture of philanthropy at William and Mary.
What has been your favorite experience at William and Mary?
The Development Ambassadors strive to educate students on the meaning of "Paying it Foward." We want to emphasize the importance of sharing your time, talents, and resources so that future generations are afforded the same experiences that we have been fortunate to have as undergraduate students at the College of William and Mary.
We encourage students to take part in our first annual Student Philanthropy week as we begin to establish a culture of giving back among current undergraduates.
