S W I F T R U N F O R M A T I O N
The Swift Run Formation is a discontinous unit exposed below the metabasalts of the ~570 Ma Catoctin Formation. In central and northern Virginia the Swift Run Fm is composed of arksoic sandstone and conglomerate and phyllitic mudstone. Exposed in Afton, Nelson County.
