The Vice President for Finance has executive oversight of the areas of Planning and Evaluation, Financial Operations, Private Funds, and Ash Lawn-Highland, makes recommendations to the President and Provost regarding allocation of university resources, and has authority to transact business in the name of the College of William and Mary.

The Office of Finance is responsible for the development and administration of the College budget and provides analysis and recommendations to the Vice President for Finance. In addition, the office coordinates development of operating budget initiatives submitted to the Commonwealth of Virginia and the integration of all budget development activities into the overall planning activities of the College.
