The Crowne Plaza Fort Magruder Hotel is centrally located and is only one mile from Colonial Williamsburg. This hotel will be your home away from home while you are Elderhosteling with us. All classes will be held in conference rooms at the hotel. Both indoor and outdoor swimming pools are available to you, as well as a hot tub, sauna, exercise room and lighted outdoor tennis courts. We hope you have time to take advantage of these great facilities.

Driving Directions to the Crowne Plaza Fort Magruder Hotel:

From Hampton Roads and points southeast:
Travel WEST on Interstate 64 toward Williamsburg. Take Exit #242A/Route 199. Go approximately one mile and take the exit for Route 60. Stay to the left when the exit ramp splits. At the stop sign, turn LEFT onto Route 60 West. The Crowne Plaza is approximately one mile down on the left. If you reach the point where the four-lane highway narrows to two lanes, you've gone too far.

From Richmond and points northwest:
Travel EAST on Interstate 64 toward Williamsburg. Take Exit #242A/Route 199. Go approximately one mile and take the exit for Route 60. Stay to the left when the exit ramp splits. At the stop sign, turn LEFT onto Route 60 West. The Crowne Plaza is approximately one mile down on the left. If you reach the point where the four-lane highway narrows to two lanes, you've gone too far.

From Southside Virginia via the Jamestown Ferry:
Cross the James River on the Jamestown Ferry, exiting the ferry onto Route 31/Jamestown Road. Follow Route 31/Jamestown Road toward Williamsburg for approximately 4 miles. Turn RIGHT at the traffic light at Route 199. Follow Route 199 for approximately 3.5 miles and take the exit for Route 60. At the end of the ramp, turn LEFT at the traffic light onto Route 60 West. The Crowne Plaza is approximately one mile down on the left. If you reach the point where the four-lane highway narrows to two lanes, you've gone too far. Elderhostel Registration at the Crowne Plaza

Rooms are not available until 4:00 pm, so if you arrive early, make yourself at home in the lobby or proceed to our registration desk, which opens at 3:30 pm. (Follow direction signs in the lobby.) Light refreshments, coffee and punch await you. Please note: The hotel staff is wonderful and friendly. Since Williamsburg has a low unemployment rate, it is common for stores and hotels to have lighter staffing than to what you may be accustomed.

Arriving Early? Staying Late? Extra Night Accommodations are available. To accommodate your travel plans, the Crowne Plaza can usually provide lodging before and/or after your program. Call the hotel directly to make reservations for extra nights. The hotel offers a discounted Elderhostel rate, but it varies seasonally and does not include meals. Be sure to let the hotel know you are with William and Mary Elderhostel to secure the special rate. Payment for the extra nights must be paid directly to the hotel. If the hotel is sold out, call us and we will be happy to offer other suggestions.
