Associate Professor Sarah Stafford will give the 8th Annual Distinguished Faculty Lecture, "Environmentalists in the Boardroom: Using Public Policy to Encourage Corporate Responsibility" on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 4 p.m., in Andrews Hall, Room 101. Professor Stafford will discuss the motivations behind the trend of cooperation between environmental agencies and corporations and the resulting changes in both environmental policy and corporate environmental behavior. She will also discuss how the increase in corporate environmental responsibility ties in with the larger issue of corporate social responsibility. The lecture is free and open to the public and a reception will immediately follow.

Cambridge University press has published the second edition of Professor Don Campbell's book, Incentives: Motivation and the Economics of Information in both hardback and paperback editions. John McMillan of Stanford writes "Donald Campbell does a masterly job of synthesis, making modern theory accessible and drawing out its very practical applications." Thomas Palfrey (Princeton University) says "In this second edition, Professor Campbell has transformed an excellent book on incentives into the ideal text for a course in the economics of information." Senior Frank DiTraglia received the Lord Botetourt Medal from the College during the 2006 Commencement ceremony. The award was established in 1772 by Norborne Berkeley, Baron de Botetourt, Governor of Virginia. It is awarded "for the honor and encouragement of literary merit" and is given to the graduating senior who has attained the greatest distinction in scholarship. Frank was a double major in economics and mathematics. Frank is currently earning a MSc in statistics at the University of St. Andrew's in Scotland on a Rotary International Scholarship and plans to return to the U.S. to earn a Ph.D. in economics. Congratulations, Frank!
