Student Assembly Department of Diversity Initiatives
Emerging as an outgrowth of the NAACP Diversification Project, this new department centralizes student diversity affairs and sponsors a number of programs and initiatives available to all students.
The general purpose of our Safe Zone program is to reduce homophobia and heterosexism on our campus and thereby make our campus a safer and freer environment for all members of the community, regardless of sexual orientation. Faculty, staff, and students who participate in Safe Zone training are particularly equipped to serve as a resource for people seeking clarification around issues of sexual diversity.
