The Reporting Team represents one facet of The College of William and Mary's planned engagement of hate and bias issues. The structure described above spells out the steps and responsibilities of William and Mary's first response to events of this nature. This team recognizes it is one part of a community-wide effort that includes proactive and educative participation from many parts of the College.

The Reporting Team has two goals:

1. To contribute to a more just and diverse community by addressing in a timely and sensitive manner bias behavior that undermines our community.
2. To provide support for individuals affected by bias incidents.
