Purpose: Proper planning can help donors and their families realize the greatest benefits from their gifts to the College. This involves choosing the best combination of assets and vehicles to accomplish charitable, financial, and estate planning objectives.
The Gift Planning Office stands ready to help alumni and friends plan current as well as future gifts to William and Mary. A knowledgeable and experienced staff is available to assist donors and their advisors with a wide range of gift planning services including:
Customized Illustrations
With the aid of a sophisticated computer program, we can prepare customized illustrations of projected income and tax benefits for charitable trusts and other vehicles.
Charitable Income Plans
We can assist in establishing your trust or gift annuity from start to finish, including the direct deposit of your income payments.
Bequest Language
We can provide specific language for your will or revocable trust, designating your bequest to the appropriate related foundation.
Commemorative Opportunities
We can help you select the most appropriate way to honor your special ties to the College, such as a commemorative room, garden, or endowment.
Recognition: The Sir Robert Boyle Legacy Society was established in 1992 to recognize those alumni and friends who have made future provisions for the College in their estate plans, regardless of value. Such provisions may be in the form of bequests, trusts, annuities, life insurance or other means. The Boyle Legacy Society honors Sir Robert Boyle, the noted 17th century physicist whose bequest provided important support during the College’s founding years. Benefits of Boyle Legacy Society membership include an annual luncheon program, special newsletter, and engraved commemorative lapel pin.
