Orientation begins on Friday, August 22. Residence halls open at 8:00 a.m., and the first orientation session for students and family members begins at 2:00 p.m. You will find a summary of scheduled orientation events in the New Student Mailing (Tribe Guide). The Orientation Program concludes for family at noon on Saturday, August 23 and for students the evening of August 26. Classes begin on Wednesday, August 27. When you arrive at William and Mary, you will meet your Orientation Aides and receive a detailed schedule of all Orientation activities.

During Orientation, you will get to know your roommate, hallmates, and many other new students. You will also have the opportunity to meet with your faculty advisor and become familiar with academic policies and regulations. You will learn about many college traditions including the Honor System and the history of William & Mary. There will be campus tours and introductions to learning assistance resources, library services, and recreational sports.
