Judicial Council

 The judicial system at the College of William and Mary exists to provide a living and learning environment which reflects the values of the institution.  Through it, the College seeks to guide students toward the development of personal responsibility, respect for others, and mature behavioral standards.

The Judicial Council exists to assist the student community and the College meet these goals of student development and reflection of institutional values.  The Council seeks to meet these goals through educating the community on the Student Code of Conduct and the judicial process, serving on hearing boards and panels, and reviewing the Student Handbook and judicial process.  The Council is comprised of student, faculty, and administrative members constituted as follows:

  1. Undergraduate Students – 13 students (5 seniors, 4 juniors, and 4 sophomores) selected on an annual basis
  2. Graduate Students – 15 students (3 from each of the 5 graduate schools) selected on an annual basis
  3. Faculty – 8 full-time faculty members appointed on an annual basis
  4. Administrative Staff – 4 members of the administrative staff appointed on an annual basis
