Judicial Affairs

Office of Judicial Affairs

The Office of Judicial Affairs, housed in the Dean of Students Office, serves to maintain the College community's unique values and behavioral expectations of its students. The mission of Judicial Affairs is to educate students regarding their rights and responsibilities as members of the College community and assist in the development of students into productive citizens. The office accomplishes this mission through educational programs and outreach, addressing allegations of student misconduct in a fair and educationally-appropriate manner, and training and advising the Honor System and various hearing boards.

Developing Personal Responsibility

The judicial and honor systems at the College of William and Mary exist to provide a living and learning environment that reflects the values of the community, including those of personal integrity, academic integrity, and responsibility. Judicial Affairs promotes appropriate standards of conduct for the College community as reflected in the Honor Code, the Student Code of Conduct, and other College policies.

Staff members are available to provide information to students, faculty, and staff about the College community's standards, to provide information about judicial and honor procedures, and to discuss complaints related to students or student groups.

Please refer to the Student Handbook for a complete explanation of the Judicial and Honor processes. In addition, flow charts depicting the Judicial and Honor processes are available for download and review.
