The College of William and Mary welcomes a widely diverse population of students including students with disabilities. In order to provide an accessible educational environment and to meet the individual learning needs of students, we invite self-declaration of disabilities to the College’s Assistant Dean of Students for Disability Services.
All information submitted regarding disability will be handled confidentially and is shared only with the express written permission of the student for accommodation purposes. The College cannot provide accommodations that are not requested.
Upon enrollment, students are expected to meet with the Assistant Dean of Students for Disability Services after attending all classes at least once and within the first three weeks of the semester to discuss current course load and appropriate accommodation(s). Letters authorizing accommodation are prepared and ready for pick up within 48 hours of this initial meeting. They must be hand delivered to professors in a timely fashion (usually within the week of pick up) and this procedure is repeated each semester that the student is in attendance.
