Q: Where do I park?

A: There are four nearby options for public parking:

  • Town Park
    1776 Massachusetts Avenue (across the street from the Carnegie Endowment building)
    Open: 7-7 pm, M-F
    Rates: 0-1 hour $5; each additional hr. $5; all day $10
  • Central Parking System
    1800 Massachusetts Avenue (at 18th street, on the right coming down from Dupont Circle)
    Open: 7-8:30 pm, M-F
    Rates: 0-1 hour $5; each additional hr. $5; all day $10
  • Standard Parking
    18th & N Streets  (make a L onto N from 18th, it is half a block down on your R) Open: M-T: 6:30am-11pm; W-T: 6:30am-Midnight; FS: 6:30am-4am
    Closed Sunday/Federal Holidays         Overnight: $25

Q: What facilities are available at the W&M office?

A: The W&M suite consists of a reception area and five offices. All rooms feature windows and natural light:

  • A fully-equipped conference room that can accommodate up to 25 people.
  • Two workstations with a computer, telephone, high-speed internet access, and printing capabilities.
  • An office that is used by the W&M in Washington professor, the Regional Major Gifts Officers, our summer interns, and as overflow office space by visitors from campus.

Q: What equipment is in the W&M office?

A: The office has:

Q: How is the Washington Office staffed?

A: The Washington Office is staffed with four positions: the Director, Program Assistant, and two Regional Major Gifts Officers.  Adam Anthony '87  serves as Director. The Program Assistant is currently open.  Susan Warner '64 and Barb Salins are the new Northern Virginia Regional Major Gifts Officer, based in both DC and Williamsburg.   The W&M in Washington Office is run from the Washington Office and is staffed by Program Director Roxane Adler and Program Assistant Morgan Oakes.

Q: Who on campus can I contact about the Washington Office?

A: The Provost's Office is available for questions or comments about the office. They also have extra keys available to visiting faculty and staff who need access to the office outside of normal business hours.

Q: Are there other conference facilities in the Carnegie Endowment building?

A: There are several conference rooms and reception areas of various sizes in the Carnegie Endowment Conference Center. Information on the room capacities and fees is at:  http://www.ceip.org/files/about/about_Conference.asp. Please note that these facilities carry rental fees.

In addition, the Council on Foreign Relations, with whom the office has a working relationship, has a large conference room that accommodates 25-30 people and has videoconferencing capabilities. W&M users may use the conference room at no charge, and may use the teleconferencing equipment for the cost of the long-distance connection and any other technical support that may be required. Q: How do I access the W&M office on evenings or weekends?

A: If you wish to use the office during non-traditional business hours, i.e., outside the range of 9 am – 5 pm, M-F, you should obtain a key from the Washington Office or the Provost’s Office before arriving. The keys will allow access to the front door of the Carnegie Building after hours, as well as to the doors of the W&M suite.

Q: What should I know about catering at the Washington Office?

A: Event catering must be arranged through one of the caterers approved by the Carnegie Endowment. For details about menus or pricing please contact the Washington Office.
