Hands on DC is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that conducts an annual citywide work-a-thon to improve Washington, DC public schools, raises funds to support local college scholarship programs, and encourages greater community involvement in the public schools.  That is where we come in. By participating in the work-a-thon, we can help make a difference in these students lives. And, it's FUN! Last year the W&M alums cleaned and painted an elementary school lobby and stairway in Tribe Pride green. PLUS it is a great way to chat with other alums in the area, and support your community at the same time! This year when we raise $500 to adopt a school, in addition to the work that we perform, we will also be able to fund a mural, buy paint for 6 classrooms, and weed and lay mulch around 10 trees and 10 bushes!

So, what are you waiting for? Join now -- To join the William and Mary Alumni team, please follow this link to the Hands on DC Homepage (http://handsondc.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=259506), and choose "Register Here", and then click on "Join a Team".  Please contact Ginny Horner, vhorner@gmail.com, with any questions about the Work-a-thon, or to make a donation to our Adopt-a-School Fund!
