Katie van den Heuvel
has danced for the National Ballet Company in Maryland, Old Dominion
University's Dance Theater, the ODU Ballet, and the
Tidewater Dance Collective. She graduated from Old Dominion
University in
2003 with a BA in Dance Education, and has taught at the National
Ballet School,
Music in Motion Dance Academy, Children's Dance Center, and at the
Visual and Performing Art Academy at Salem High School. Katie's
choreography
has been performed in numerous ODU Dance Theater and Dance Association
concerts,
the 2003 ACDFA conference at North Carolina State University, and the
2004 AAHPERD national convention in New Orleans. More recently
her
choreography appeared in the 2005 and 2006 Academy Showcase
performances, as well as
in the 2005 musical "Honk" and the 2006 musical "Sugar." This is
her first appearance with Gravity Optional.
