Latin Teacher (Vacancy Announcements)

  •  A private, college-preparatory school in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a middle-school Latin teacher to commence work in August 2008. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the full life of the school by coaching athletic teams or supervising extracurricular activities. Compensation:  Competitive with local public school salary and benefits. RequirementsBachelor's degree with at least a minor in Classics or Latin.  Excellent communication and leadership skills.  Strong academic record.  Teacher certification not required.  Enthusiasm for working with middle-school students is essential!
  • A private, college-preparatory school in the Tidewater region of Virginia is seeking a middle-school Latin teacher to commence work in August 2008. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the full life of the school by coaching athletic teams or supervising extracurricular activities. Funding Opportunity for Graduate Study

The Beinecke Scholarship provides substantial scholarships for students of exceptional promise to attend graduate school in the arts, humanities and social sciences.

Applicants must be juniors at the time of application, have a GPA of at least 3.7 (campus nomination requirement), and have a documented history of receiving need-based financial aid as an undergraduate OR be able to provide a statement from a financial aid officer indicating how much need-based aid the student would receive if they were not receiving support from the non-need-based source (merit award or tuition exchange).
