Housing and Dining
Wireless and Starbucks? Thomas Jefferson never had it this good.
For nearly three-quarters of William & Mary undergraduates, the College’s historic, 1,200-acre campus is home for all four years. With that in mind, W&M has spared no expense to provide comfortable, well-equipped housing and dining facilities for everyone.
- All residence halls have wireless high speed Internet access, cable TV, phone jacks and Ethernet connections in each room.
- Freshmen live in one of 13 coed residence halls, all with study lounges, common hangout areas, shared kitchens, laundry facilities, and even pool and foosball tables. Upperclassmen have tons of housing options, including singles/doubles/triples, on-campus apartments with kitchens, roomy seven-person lodges with kitchens or on-campus fraternity and sorority housing.
- The brand-new Jamestown North and South residence halls include awesome amenities like in-room controls for heating and air-conditioning, kitchens and lounges on every floor, soundproof practice rooms, reading rooms and a game room.
- Some cool special-interest housing options include the Africa House, Reves Hall (international affairs), Sharpe Community Scholars House, Mosaic House (interracial, sexuality), and eight Language Houses (Arabic, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Russian) where students and native speakers communicate exclusively in the target language. ¡Que chido!
- Conveniently located next to the Law School are apartments specifically designed for graduate students.

Forget everything you think you know about college food. W&M has made some big upgrades to its dining halls and on-campus eating options over the past five years. Good-bye Tater Tots and French bread pizza. Hello healthy, delicious international cuisine.
- The Fresh Food Company is the product of extensive renovations to the Commons Dining Hall—what we call “The Caf.” Dishes like blackened tuna, Brazilian roast pork and spicy arugula pasta are prepared right before your eyes. And with “unlimited seconds,” you’ll never walk away hungry.
- In the Sadler Center’s dining hall, you’ll find home-style favorites like carved roast beef and macaroni and cheese, an extensive salad bar, sandwiches and wraps, tons of vegetarian and vegan options, and fresh-baked treats prepared in our own W&M Bakeshop.
- On-campus sushi? Nice. AFC Sushi is a made-to-order sushi restaurant offering popular rolls and nigiri. Prepared, boxed sushi, made fresh all day, is available in several cafes and shops across campus.
- The Marketplace Café is like an upscale food court with national chains like Montague's Deli, Grille Works and Chick-fil-A. There’s also a Quizno’s Sub shop on campus.
- There’s no excuse to be thirsty. The Recreation Center and Marketplace Café both have an incredible Freshens fresh juice bar and there are a half-dozen coffee shops on campus, including the Mews in the library and the Daily Grind with its cozy fireplace and outdoor tables.
- And when the late-night pizza craving kicks in, there’s always Dominos, payable with Flex Points or the W&M Express Card.
