The grant will fund the launch of a project designed to examine effective methods of communicating issues about language variation to K-12 educators.
Chappell Fellow Rachel Granata is keeping a blog of our summer research experiences. You may read her blog at: {{http://ragran.wmblogs.net/}}
My senior thesis student Daniel Villarreal is my guest blogger for this entry. Daniel's senior thesis proposal is included in the Honors Fellowship Program-- a new initiative at the College that allows donors to donate to individual faculty/student research projects.

This summer I will be co-teaching a one week workshop on language variation for educators at Virginia Commonwealth University with Christine Mallinson and William and Mary graduate Hannah Askin '07. The workshop is open to all.
