  4. Payroll
    The payroll department is responsible for processing salary and wage payments for all university employees, ensuring that payroll taxes are reported and deposited in a manner consistent with state and federal policies and procedures.
  5. Phi Beta Kappa Box Office
    Tickets for events are currently sold through the box office at the Kimball Theatre and through an online ticket site.
  6. Phi Beta Kappa Society
    Founded on December 5, 1776, by five students at William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest undergraduate honors organization in the United States.
  7. Philosophy
    The study of philosophy lies at the very heart of a sound liberal arts education. Our undergraduate students learn to develop arguments, think critically and logically, communicate clearly, and write succinctly. They go into a wide range of careers and are well prepared for professional and graduate programs.

    Physicists study the nature of matter, forces and energy at all scales from subatomic to cosmic with resulting applications impacting nearly every field of science. Our graduate and undergraduate students are well prepared for many activities that are setting new directions in society.
  9. Plant Tour of Woody Species on Campus
    Among the scenic locations on campus can be found more than 300 species and varieties of woody plants, a living archive that also supports research by faculty and students at William & Mary. This collection is known as "The Baldwin Memorial Collection of Woody Species" after John T. (J.T.) Baldwin, Jr., professor of biology from 1946 to 1974.
  10. Plumeri House
    Thanks to the generosity of Joseph Plumeri '66, D.P.S. '11, the Plumeri House continues the university's history of hospitality as a home away from home for special members of the William & Mary family.

    PLUS is Preparing for Life as a University Student. The purpose of the PLUS program is to provide a positive, transitional summer experience between high school and college life.

    High school students ages 13 and up can take pre-college courses designed and taught by renowned William & Mary faculty. Our programs — which range from psychology, venture capital and medicine — will enable students to gain valuable insights and skills from expert practitioners working at the center of their fields. All courses are 100% online, allowing students to study at their own pace.
  16. Pre-College Program in American History
    The National Institute of American History & Democracy operates the Pre-College Program in American History. This hands-on, interdisciplinary program gives high school students an opportunity to live and study at William & Mary for three weeks during the summer. Students earn 4 hours of transferable college credit learning about American history where it happened.

    Information and application advice for undergraduate students considering a career that requires graduate study at a professional school: medicine, veterinary and other health fields; law, engineering, business and education.

  20. Print Shop
    The Print Shop, powered by Hackworth, is a full service print shop providing small and large format printing for William & Mary faculty, staff and students as well as the surrounding community.
  21. Procurement Services
    Procurement Services is an integral piece of Supply Chain Services. The mission of Procurement Services is to support the educational and research goals of W&M by providing efficient and cost-effective acquisition of quality goods and services, sound inventory and fixed assets management, and effective internal campus delivery of goods received from suppliers.
  22. Professionals & Professional Faculty Assembly
    The Professionals & Professional Faculty Assembly (PPFA) is a 21-member elected board that represents PPFs, providing "a forum for the collection of opinions of professionals and professional faculty on issues, policies and matters of relevance to professionals and professional faculty and those impacting the general welfare of the university."   23. Project HOPE-Virginia
    Project HOPE-Virginia is Virginia's Program for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth. William & Mary administers the program for the Virginia Department of Education. Funding is authorized under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act (part of the No Child Left Behind Act).
  24. Provost, Office of the
    The Provost is the university's chief academic officer and is responsible for all academic and research programs, academic budgets, institutional planning, space allocation and faculty development.
  25. Psychological Sciences
    Psychology is the science of mental processes and behaviors. At William & Mary, we present psychology as both a natural and a social science in terms of its philosophy, principles, and methods. Our graduate and undergraduate students build programs of study that emphasize their interests in the field.
  26. Public Interest Technology University Network
    W&M is a member of the Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) which aims to encourage the development of public interest technology and growing a new generation of civic-minded technologists. It highlights and provides opportunities for students, researchers and faculty to learn more about and showcase their work in public interest technology.
  27. Public Policy
    Public policy is an interdisciplinary program offering undergraduate and graduate degrees and featuring faculty trained in a variety of fields, including economics, government, law, sociology, and philosophy, among others. Students develop subject-matter expertise and a strong foundation of analytical and applied-methods skills, which lead to competitive internship, graduate school, and career placements.
