Mosaic House
Mosaic House is a co-ed space in the Jamestown dorms. Students living in Mosaic House organize their own events-film series, speakers, diversity workshops, cultural fairs. Students are involved in on-going intellectual exchange about culture, diversity, interracial community, and sexuality. Mosaic provides a supportive space for students at the intersection of the campus's growing diversification, and also welcomes students who wish to expand their cross-cultural understanding. Programs serve Mosaic House members and, at times, the broader campus community. Find more information and an application here. Students interested in living in the Mosaic space in 2010-11 must:
- Submit completed application by Wednesday, January 25th, 2010
- Submit $200 Room Reservation Deposit to the Bursar by Friday, February 19th, 2010
- Participate in Mosaic House Room Selection on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at 5.30 pm. Once a contract is signed, the forthcoming room selection block is null and void. If you cannot attend the room selection meeting, you should designate a proxy to select a room and sign a contract in your absence.
Comments
"Why I like living in the House? I enjoy living in an area which self-selects open-minded individuals. The house combines the benefits of a language house (cultural interest) with that of an activism interest group (interested in issues such as the perception of sexual orientations and ethnicities in society)."
