Work in Progress IX: April 24, 1999
On Saturday, April 24, 1999, the Women's Studies Program at the College of William and Mary hosted its first Work in Progress IX: A Conference on Feminist Scholarship. Hours and hours of careful planning went into this much anticipated event. And much to the relief of everyone, the conference experienced an encouraging turn-out. Approximately 110 people attended the conference.

Washington Hall was pebbled with the lively sound of conversations between old and new acquaintances, the echo of laughter and enjoyment, and even the moments of silence as the participants focused their attention onto the speakers.

The Women's Studies Program would like to thank the participants who were able to join us at this great event. We are delighted to say that persons from all over Virginia as well as parts of North Carolina were able to attend. We hope to be given the opportunity to organize next year's conference.
