The Nevels Endowment was established in 2006 by faculty emeritus Jerry Bledsoe, in honor of his parents, Christine P. and Robert E. Nevels. Income from the endowment will be used to support operational expenses of the annual Festival.
Professor Bledsoe joined the Department of Theatre, Speech, and Dance in 1971 and retired in 2003. He helped to establish the Virginia Shakespeare Festival in 1978 and served as the company's artistic director from 1989 to 2004.
Additional contributions to the Nevels Endowment Fund will add to the annual income and help to ensure the future vitality of the Virginia Shakespeare Festival. You can contribute online using our secure web server. For more information, please contact Arts & Sciences Development at 757-221-7737.
