Acting Auditions

We normally hire an acting company of around 20, which includes 2 to 3 Equity Guest Artists, (Special Apperance contract this season), 11-12 non-Equity Resident company members (grad school and beyond, weekly scale comparable to other festivals, housing included), and 6 acting interns (undergraduate students, paid, class work in voice and text, free shared campus housing).

In 2012 the Festival will hold auditions in two locations:

Washington, DC on January 13  (callbacks on January 17)
Williamsburg, VA on January 28 (callbacks on the same day)

All auditions this year are being handled by electronic submission.  To request an audition in either location please email to virginiashakespeare@gmail.com - your subject line should say either "DC Audition request" or "Williamsburg Audition request" depending upon where you would like to be seen.  Attach a resume as either a pdf or word file and a small file version of your headshot.  Our casting office will then get back to you with an exact time slot and details on the location.  Actors are asked to prepare one or two Shakespeare monologues to fit within a three minute total time frame.  We prefer monologues that are not from the two shows being cast.
