Acting Auditions

Much AdoWe normally hire an acting company of around 22, which includes 4 to 5 Equity Guest Artists (Guest Artist Tier II contract this season), 11-12 non-Equity Resident company members (grad school and beyond, weekly scale comparable to other festivals, housing included), and 6 acting interns (undergraduate students, paid, class work in voice and text, free shared campus housing).

The Festival will hold auditions in three locations:

  • Washington, DC on January 14 (generals and callbacks).
  • New York City, NY on January 16 and 17 (generals) and 18 (callbacks).
  • Williamsburg, VA on January 23 (generals and callbacks)

All auditions this year are being handled by electronic submission. To request an audition please email - your subject line should say either "DC Audition Request", NYC Audition Request" or "WMBG Audition Request" depending upon where you would like to be seen.  Attach a resume as either a pdf or word file and a small file version of your headshot. Our casting office will then get back to you with an exact time slot and details on the location if selected to audition. We will begin reviewing resumes and headshots on October 13, 2015. Actors are asked to prepare one to two Shakespeare monologues to fit in a total 3 minute timeframe. We prefer monologues that are not from the shows being cast.  Acting Intern candidates (currently undergrads or graduating this May) are considered as part of this regular audition process and should request an audition time as noted above.
