Acting Auditions

We normally hire an acting company of around 20, which includes a few Equity Guest Artists (note: all Equity contracts for 2010 have been committed), 11-12 non-Equity Resident company members (grad school and beyond, weekly scale comparable to other festivals, housing included), and 6 acting interns (undergraduate students, paid, class work in voice and text, free shared campus housing).

In 2010 the Festival will hold auditions in two locations:

• Washington, DC on January 11 & 12
• Williamsburg, VA on January 23 & 24

To audition at either location, please send a photo and resume by December 15, 2009 to Christopher Owens, Producing Artistic Director, Virginia Shakespeare Festival, College of William and Mary, PO Box 8795, Williamsburg, VA 23187-8795, noting your preferred audition location. We will call you with an appointment time. 

Everyone auditioning should prepare one or two Shakespeare monologues to fit in a three-minute time frame.
