Summer Camps

Romeo & Juliet

Camp Shakespeare

VSF is offering two one-week day-camps for young actors who wish to study the acting of Shakespeare's plays.  Camp directors will be joined by various members of the VSF Acting Company to instruct the campers in the playing of Shakespeare's language, stage combat, improvisation and clowing as part of the week's instruction. Camps will culminate with campers performing an abridge version of A Midsummer Night's Dream in our studio theatre.

Camps run from 9am to 4pm, Monday through Thursday and then from 9am to 5:30pm on Friday when A Midsummer Night's Dream is presented to the public at 4pm that Friday.

Classes are held at Phi Beta Kappa Hall on the campus of the College of William and Mary.  Tuition for the week is $225.  The Young Shakespeare Camps are day camps, no housing is provided and those students attending from out of town would need to find their own housing for the week of the camp.

Camp Dates:

Ages 11-13, July 8-12 (SOLD OUT.  Please email to be put on a wait list.)

Ages 14-17, July 15-19

Camps will fill on a first come, first served basis with a total of 24 spots available for each week.  For the past eight years, camps have sold out, so we encourage you to register early.
