Undergraduate Program
Summer Sessions: How to Register

William and Mary Students
Currently enrolled degree-seeking William and Mary students need only register for courses using the on-line registration system (my.wm.edu). See the Calendar for the start date for summer registration. No application is necessary.
William and Mary students expecting to graduate before the start of summer sessions must complete the Summer Session Application and Registration Form.
Students admitted to William and Mary for the fall semester following the summer sessions must register as unclassified students. Courses taken will appear on their William and Mary transcript and apply toward their graduation requirements.
Unclassified Students
All unclassified students must complete the Summer Session Application and Registration Form and submit it to the Office of the University Registrar in Blow Memorial Hall. The Registrar Office's staff will add you into the course(s) requested on the form. Once the information provided is entered in the College's Student Information System, you will be able to use the on-line registration system (my.wm.edu) to add, drop, or withdraw from classes.
If you expect to qualify for in-state tuition rates, you must also complete the Application for In-State Tuition Privileges and submit it to the Office of the University Registrar by the first day of classes.
Students seeking to transfer credits earned at William and Mary should obtain approval in advance from the appropriate official at their home institution.
Please note that enrollment in summer session courses does not constitute admission to the College's degree-seeking programs.
High School Students
The College of William and Mary encourages highly motivated rising juniors and seniors with strong academic records to enroll in its summer session classes. The experience can be rewarding in many ways. Not only will they receive college-level credit for courses they complete successfully, they will acquire invaluable insight into academic life at a highly selective university.
High school students should enroll in lower-division courses (generally, courses at the 100- or 200-level) with no prerequisites. Prerequisites can be found by clicking on the course title in the Listing of Courses. For advice on course selection, contact Kimberley L. Phillips, Dean for Educational Policy (221-2469), or the Office of Academic Advising (221-2476).
To apply, the following forms must be submitted:
- Summer Session Application and Registration Form

If you expect to qualify for in-state tuition rates, you must also complete the Application for In-State Tuition Privileges and submit it to the Office of the University Registrar by the first day of classes.
