When I first started college, I was considering pursuing either a Neuroscience major or an International Relations major. My initial academic advisor was in the Economics Department. When I decided to go with Neuroscience, she pointed me in the right direction and gave me the resources I needed to find my major advisor.
Also, as a pre-med student I have to meet certain requirements in addition to my major requirements. The pre-med advisor helped me plan which courses I should take and when I should take them. My major advisor was then able to help me work major courses and GERs into my schedule. Both of them helped make planning my courses much easier and stress-free.
