Students with one major may decide to complete a secondary program of studies, called a "minor." A minor consists of 18-22 credit hours in a department or program that does not house your major. You must maintain a 2.0 grade point average in the minor, and none of the minor courses may be taken Pass/Fail.

Students intending to minor must complete and submit the Declaration of Minor form [pdf] to the Registrar’s Office no later than the last day of add/drop in the semester of graduation. In most cases, you do not need a minor advisor, but should discuss your plans with your major advisor.

Students should look at the department or program of their intended minor for additional requirements and forms.

Please note that students with two majors may not declare a minor.
