Academic Advising

What is a liberal arts education? How do students experience that at William & Mary? Forming the answers to those questions is a process unique to every student.

Our advising program starts the summer before you arrive on campus and continues through graduation, involving you with faculty mentors, peer advisors, and professional staff.

You'll have many opportunities to consider the areas of knowledge you're drawn to and the abilities that seem to come naturally to you. We'll encourage you to think big and explore broadly as you develop your own understanding of who you are, what you care about, and the kind of place you want to make for yourself in the world.

What's your next step? That depends on where you are right now:

Academic Advising is now recruiting student Peer Advisors!

We are looking for students who want to serve in a leadership position on the Dean's advising team!

Peer Advisors are student leaders who operate within the Office of Academic Advising and serve the college by providing academic information and support to admitted freshman and transfer students in their academic transition to William & Mary. These student leaders are academic role models.
