Tamara Johnson is an award winning stage and international film actress. Theatrical performances include Off-Broadway and Regional Theatres coast to coast. As company member of the Virginia Shakespeare Festival six years, her performances include Hamlet, The Winter's Tale, Romeo and Juliet, A Man for All Seasons, and What the Butler Saw. Regional Theatre credits: Steel Magnolias - Springer Opera House, Georgia; Glass Menagerie - Rep Stage, Maryland; Legacy of Light - Virginia Rep and Lettuce and Lovage - Off Square Theatre Jackson Hole, Wyoming. International film credits: Lake Effects co-starring with Jane Seymour and 6 Souls co-starring with Julianne Moore. TV credits: One Tree Hill, Killing Lincoln, The Wire, A Haunting and a recent TV pilot Young Americans.
In the world of solo art, Tamara researched, wrote, produced, costumed, and presently stars in her one-woman show In Haste, Laura Keene for which she received the Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council. This production toured to the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in South Carolina and has played New York City, Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, and Texas. Future performances are scheduled for the National Portrait Gallery in Washington D.C. and Springer Opera House. A member of Actors Equity and SAG-AFTRA, Ms. Johnson is recipient of the Kennedy Center's Award for Excellence.
