Background
Lauren Morris graduated Virginia Commonwealth University cum laude with a BFA in Dance and Choreography and received recognition with the Outstanding Performer Award. She studied modern dance, choreography and automated lighting design in San Jose, Costa Rica where she had the opportunity to present her work at the Audiorio National. Lauren has performed the choreography of Tere O'Connor, Leah Glenn, Gerri Houlihan, Gesel Mason, Rob Petres, Judy Steel, Jill Brammer Ware, and Rodney Williams. She has also performed as a company member of the Starr Foster Dance Project and Amaranth Contemporary Dance, under the direction of Scott Putman. Lauren served as a head instructor for the Universal Dance Association and her choreography for Northern Virginia high school dance teams won numerous awards at regional and national levels. She has instructed at the VCU Summer Dance Intensive, Shuffles Dance Center, The Concert Ballet of Virginia, Regency Dance Academy, the Institute for Dance, Dynamic Movements, and the Performing Arts High School in Denver, Colorado. Lauren is currently an adjunct dance instructor at The College of William and Mary and is a member of the Gravity Optional Dance Company under the direction of Joan Gavaler and Denise Damon Wade.
