More Information
Fall Creek Falls State Park, in Tennessee, is one of the largest natural areas in Tn. The park also contains a large amount of resort development, and is probably the most heavily visited state park in Tennessee. In the summer, the intern would be working with a general population on a variety of natural and cultural programs. If an intern can work in April and/or May, they can assist in the park's residential environmental education center. This center focusses on the middle school student, and attempts to bring these students into contact with a natural setting in an engaging and challenging fashion. Interns in either season will be able to study the effectiveness of these programs: the successes and failures, the impediments to successful program delivery, and the need for programs of these types.
